Summary
In this chapter, Amir and his father escaped to Fremont for about two years, at first , his father worked in a gas station, but he cannot adjust the America life,there is always a paragraph vividly shows their life,that is "For me, America was a place to bury my memories,for baba , a place to mourn his ." during this time , Amir was graduated from high school and successfully entered in a junior college to pursue his dream of writing, to my surprise, his father finally agreed .in 1984 , Amir and father have their own stand at the flea market,in there , Amir encountered his dream lover-Soraya and Amir was obsessed with her.
小結:阿米爾和爸爸逃難的過程充滿艱辛，到達美國后爸爸也一直未能完全融入其中，懷念家鄉，懷念哈桑父子，而阿米爾自認為能夠逃離過去的記憶，其實也未能如愿，過去的錯事一直種在他的內心深處久久不能釋懷，這也為后文哈桑的悲慘遭遇埋下的伏筆，然而我在想，如果哈桑成年后收獲了幸福生活，阿米爾是否能夠感到些許內心的安慰？這不得而知，同時也驗證了那句老話，做過的錯事就像木樁上的釘子，即使拔掉了也會留有痕跡，無法抹去。對于阿米爾慶幸的是父親沒有過分阻礙他的寫作志愿，他也邂逅了夢中情人—將軍的女兒。
