第一篇:Sleeping Struggles

Everybody has to fall asleep, some of us need our favorite pair of socks, a warm beverage, or our stuffed animal. But even when we get in bed our phone lights up with notifications, we check them and before we realize it , it has already been 3a m. That is how staying up late comes about.

As far as I'm concerned, the reason for people's staying up late varies from person to person. However, lack of sleep would affect learning and memory. Worse, if your sleep difficulties last a long time, that could lead to anxiety or depression. As a consequence, getting enough sleep has become as important as eating vegetables and exercising regularly. Below are some suggestions for forming good habits of healthy sleep.

1.Stickto a schedule

Establishing a consistent nighttime routine for a child is a particular challenge, especially when the child is very young. However ,we can make an attempt to do it. When My daughter was fifteen days old, I managed to aid her to establish a routine , which is early to bed and early to rise.Fortunately she succeeds in doing it. Every day she goes to bed around 9p.m,and gets up at seven o'clock the next morning.

According to some investigations, the best time range to go to bed and to help you wake up in great shape is between 9pm and midnight, making sure that you have 8 hours of sleep per night.

2.Avoidthe distraction

Beds should only be used for sleep. When people associate beds only with sleep , they are able to fall asleep faster and have a more restful sleep,according to an American Psychological Association (APA) study.

Therefore, It is suggested that we shouldn'tplayour phone/tablet/laptop in bed. Besides, switching the light into agentle one is of great help to ensure better sleep.

3.Don'teating or drinking

To help you get adequate sleep, don’t do anything too physically ormentally strenuous at least 2 hours before your bed time. As well, don’t eat arelatively large meal close to your sleep time.Apart from this, coffee or alcohol will make your mind excited and wakeyou up at night.

Last but not least, leave your stress and worries at your bedroom door! Clear your thoughts and just enjoy your sleep. May all of you have good sleep. Good night!

My son’s sleeping struggles

The moment I saw the subject, what occurred to my mind was my son’s sleeping struggles. As is known to all, havingenough sleeping is of great importance to everyone, especially to 3- and 4-year olds. But? it is hard for me to get? my son sleep early. As a four-year old boy, he is always energetic. Every night he would stay up until 11 o’clock, watching TV, playing with his different kinds of toys. It seems that he never feels tired.

Every time I ask him to go to bed early, but every time I fail. I begin to ask myself, ”why?”? then I realize that it’s my fault because I seldom make a stable bedtime for him. As an old saying goes, better late than never. Therefore, It’s time for me to make a change. Here's how to put an end to the bedtime battles between my son and me.

1.Create a comfortable environment

Every child is more likely to stay in bed if he or she feels safe and happy in his or her room. And it's easier for them to fall asleep if the environment is comfortable enough.? Therefore, I make sure the room isn't too hot or cold.

2.Keep the kid calm

After a busy day, he? needs a peaceful mind to have a better sleep. So post-dinner activities should bereduced or avoided. Keeping him? calm helps him? sleep earlier.

3.Rely on routine

Get his body into a rhythm so that he is tired at the same time every night. Give him a warning 15 minutes before it's time to start getting ready if necessary.

4.Don't bend the rules

Of course, simply establishing a routinewon't suddenly make him eager to sleep. If he says he isn’t sleepy,I’ll let him choose an activity to do quietlyin bed, such as looking at a book or playing withhis favorite toys.

Now , with all the methods above, although? the result is a little far from my expectation,? he goes to bed earlier than before.Romewas not built in a day. What? I have to do? in the future is keeping up. Fighting!
