Strange is our situation here upon earth。Each of us comes for a shortvisit，not
knowing why，yet sometimes seeming to divine a purpose。
人在這世上的處境真是奇異。每個人都是來世上做一次短暫訪問的，
不知自己為何而來，然爾有時候卻似乎看出一種目的。
From the standpoint of daily life，however，there
is one thing we do know that man is here for the sake of other men---above all
for those upon?whose smile and well-being our own happiness depends，and also for the countless
unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy。

upon the labors of my fellow men，both living and dead，and how earnestly??I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received。
My peace of mind is often troubled by the depressing sense that I have borrowed

To ponder interminably over the reason for one’s??own existenceor the meaning of
life in general seems to me，from an objective point of view，to be sheer folly。And yet everyone holds certain ideals by which he guides his aspiration
and his judgment。
沒完沒了的沉思自己的生存理由和人生意義，對我來講，是近乎
愚蠢的行為。不過每個人都有確定的理想作為他的追求和判斷的指南。
The ideals which have always shone before me and filled me with the joy of
living??are goodness，beauty，and truth。To make a goal of comfort and happiness has never appealed to me；a system of ethics built on this?basis would be sufficient only for a herd of cattle。
經常在我眼前閃耀發光，并使我充滿了快樂的理想，就是真，善，美。我從來沒有以追求舒適和幸福作為生活的目標，建立在這個基礎

人為了什么活著
人，從哪里來？

人，要為了誰而活著？
人，要如何度過這一生？
生而為人，
或早或晚都會考慮這些問題，
或深或淺都會考慮這些問題，
也許每個人的答案不同，
也因此過著完全不同的生活。
愛因斯坦有他的人生觀，也因此度過了他的一生。
