佩奇嘲笑喬治騎的三輪車是兒童自行車，卻沒想到自己的自行車有輔助輪，跟喬治的兒童自行車沒有什么兩樣。
佩奇嘲笑喬治，朋友們笑話佩奇，佩奇很難過，決定拆掉輔助輪，豬爸爸和豬媽媽卻沒有嘲笑她，豬爸爸雖然擔(dān)心佩奇摔跤，但還是幫佩奇拆掉了輔助輪。
果然，佩奇在拆掉輔助輪后摔跤了，佩奇開始害怕了，她要求爸爸一直跟著她扶著她，豬爸爸趁著佩奇騎的又穩(wěn)又快的時(shí)候放了手，這次佩奇沒有摔跤，佩奇學(xué)會了騎不用輔助輪的兩輪自行車。
劇情很老套，因?yàn)閹缀跛械娜硕际沁@樣學(xué)會騎自行車的，扶著扶著就中途放手了，一旦父母放手了，她也就學(xué)會了，獨(dú)立了。
其他方面也這樣。吃飯穿衣學(xué)習(xí)照顧自己，每一樣都是要父母放手之后孩子才能學(xué)會長大。
然，放手不是撒手不管，撒手不管是不負(fù)責(zé)任，放手太晚則讓孩子失去了最快的成長契機(jī)，放手講究天時(shí)地利人和，能恰到好處的放手方為智慧父母。

再一個(gè)就是犯錯(cuò)誤之后父母的做法，犯錯(cuò)分故意犯錯(cuò)和過失犯錯(cuò)，故意犯錯(cuò)肯定不可原諒，必須嚴(yán)肅批評。
過失犯錯(cuò)則不一樣，佩奇不小心把南瓜撞破了，佩奇很自責(zé)的跟豬爸爸道歉，豬爸爸并沒有指責(zé)佩奇，反而關(guān)心佩奇有沒有受傷。
