FIRST TOOL: SWOT ANALYSIS
Over the years, the GE Power has earned a high reputation in the industry. Its advanced technologies, unique leadership and management skills, and customer services always stand on the leading position. However, there are unexpected factors that hit the GE Power throughout the years. The strategies of GE Power are crucial for them to survive in these threats. Other than that, there are endless opportunities for the GE Power to expand its business and enhance its technologies in the related field. Sometimes, it brings a huge benefit for the GE Power but things are not always as easy as it seems to be, there are external factors that make the GE Power hard to sustain a long-term profit.
Strengths
First of all, the innovative technologies and digital offerings of GE Power are making power more affordable, accessible and sustainable (General Electric, 2018). On 7th March 2018, GE Power launched the GE Reservoir - a comprehensive energy storage platform. It is a platform that empowers cost-effective supply, storage, and utilization of cleaner. It can be operated in almost any setting, from centralized grid systems to the most remote rural areas (General Electric, 2018). Secondly, the GE Power is supported by the other segments of the cooperation, which enhance its efficiency and effectiveness. The GE’s products became more reliable when it was supported by the advanced technologies and solutions of the GE. For example, the Reservoir solution combines GE’s advanced technologies and expertise in plant controls, power electronics, battery management systems and electrical balance of plant – all backed by GE’s performance guarantees (General Electric, 2018).
Thirdly, the GE Power has a relatively high customer satisfaction. They provide one-stop services to their customers. The professional upgrade and service solutions, as well as their data-leveraging software, are always following the products they sold. For example, the customers can purchase the Gas Power Plant combines with the Gas Plant solution and software. It is convenient, saving time and cost for the customer. Also, the Reservoir allows energy providers new degrees of flexibility for more intelligently managing and getting the most out of all their power assets (General Electric, 2018).
The fourth strength of the GE Power is the first-mover advantage they have on the market. For example, the world’s first hybrid electric-gas turbines that GE Power introduced it to the multiple accolades across the industry during the year 2017. It functioned the wind hybrids and “Black Start” capabilities which no competitors have ever introduced to the market.
Nonetheless, the long-term and stable cooperation that GE Power has established with many countries has become one of its strengths. It enables GE Power to exchange the advanced technologies, professional and expert advice through cooperation with its partners. They share the knowledge and skills to reach the profit maximization. For example, the combination between GE Power and the Baker Hughes. BHGE’s global organization is designed to achieve business continuity, minimize disruption and meet and exceed performance objectives (Baker Hughes, 2017). On the other hand, according to the GE’s 2017 Annual Report, the Alstom acquisition in November 2015 has contributed $11.7 billion of inorganic revenue growth of GE Power in 2016 (General Electric, 2018, p. 31).
Last but not least, GE Power has a strong human resources management and excellent organization structure. It leads approximately 83,500 workers in the year 2017 (General Electric, 2018, p. 28), by 15 leaders, including the GE Power’s CEO. GE Power maintain the quality of their employees to make sure they are able to face the changing challenges. They provide learning program to empower their employee and evaluate their performance every year. As a result, only the intelligent workforce will continue work for the GE Power.

一本國際貿(mào)易內(nèi)容的書,書中的很多例子案例都比較好。對于國際貿(mào)易管類來說,也是一本非常好的書。書中提及到的案例,理論都非常詳細。從一開始的簡單淺顯的內(nèi)容逐漸深入。

04 日常
今天被群內(nèi)的老鐵采訪了,不知道不覺就說了那么多。聊了一個多小時,但是對我自己來說,可能陳述方面還是比較零散,有一些東西講的還是不清楚,說白了就是自己不懂。另外一點,感覺不知不覺,在別人的眼中,自己就是有點不一樣了,可能泡沫比較大吧。不過自己有一點還是沒有說錯的,還是要做看書,提升自己是最關(guān)鍵的。
