how to write an article when I don't know what to write

I have no idea about what to write tonight. But I have an impulse to write down something. Because if I stop writing one time, I will quit writing next time. On the one hand, I want to keep the pace of writing. I have to form a pattern to write regularly. On the other hand, if I don't writing anything down, I am afraid that my level will drop. I am advocator of persistence.
I know the power of compound interest is powerful. What you have to do is do the right things in right way. I think writing is the right thing. So I have to keep going. But writing without topic, or theme is really boring. My writing skill so slowly grow. What's worse, I don't know my article is good or not. I need some twist. I have to do some homework which is to chose a theme and read related materials. Then I can write.

Moment 1: I finished King's On Writing. I started read a new book.
Moment 2: I played basketball for 30 minutes. I found that I could make a pull up and shoot.
Moment 3: I still have no idea about my career. Will be a teacher or a writer? Will get an offer if I go to the New Oriental?
