It was the day before Christmas and Santa was ill.
In the cold winter wind he had caught a bad chill.
再過一天就是圣誕節了，可我們的圣誕老人卻生病了。
原來是那冬天里一陣寒風讓他受涼了，所以他感冒了。
Will Christmas be cancelled?
Will it come to that?
“Never!” cried Santa. “Let’s call Pete the Cat!”
圣誕節會被取消嗎？
真的會這樣嗎？
“那可不行！”圣誕老人嚷道“讓我們給皮特貓打個電話！”
Santa asked Pete to deliver the toys to all the good girls and to all the good boys.
圣誕老人讓皮特貓幫忙把玩具送給表現好的小男孩和表現好的小女孩。
“I’ll do it!” said Pete.
“And although I am small, at Christmas we give, so I’ll give it my all.”
“我會做到的！”皮特說。
“雖然我很小，但是圣誕節是一個奉獻的節日，所以我會全力以赴?！?/p>

Pete jumped in his minibus and started to roll.
皮特跳上了他的迷你巴士，然后出發了。
“公路旅行出發！”皮特嚷道
“第一站，北極?！?/p>
The reindeer were waiting to give Pete a tow,
So he packed up the presents and told them to go.
馴鹿正在等著幫皮特拉禮物，
所以皮特把禮物打包裝上他的minibus后，就告訴馴鹿出發啦。
The minibus flew, just like in a movie.
Pete the Cat cried, “This is totally groovy!”
馴鹿拖著迷你巴士飛了起來，wow，就像電影里那樣。
皮特貓叫道“太酷了！”
“I can do it!”
Said Pete, “and although I am small, at Christmas we give, so I’ll give it my all.”
“我可以做到，我可以做到！”皮特說。
“雖然我很小，但是圣誕節是一個奉獻的日子，所以我會全力以赴的。”

All the children were sleeping all snug in their beds,
Pete and his reindeer appeared overhead.
當世界上所有的孩子們舒舒服服地躺在床上睡覺的時候，
皮特和他的馴鹿們就出現在屋頂。
Straight down the chimney Pete flew in a dash, then back in his minibus quick as a flash.
皮特會拿著禮物從煙囪口飛快地爬進去，放下禮物后，又迅速地爬出煙囪，回到他的迷你汽車里。
Each time he delivered a holiday gift, he crossed off a name written on Santa’s list.
每當皮特送完一件禮物，他就在圣誕老人給他的名單上劃掉一個名字。
Santa’s list was so big, and Pete felt so small.
But at Christmas we give, so he gave it his all.
圣誕老人的名單好長好長，而皮特又是那么小。

At the very last minute they reached the last house.
Pete dashed in and out just as quiet as a mouse.
在圣誕節到來的最后一刻，皮特終于趕到了最后一家。
皮特快速地跑進去，放下禮物，再跑出來，他比小老鼠還要安靜。
Then right at the break of the new Christmas Day，
Pete and his reindeer were flying away.
就在圣誕節的鐘聲敲響的那一刻，皮特和他的馴鹿終于可以飛回家了。
Back at the North Pole, old Santa was waiting.
The elves and the townsfolk were all celebrating.
回到北極的時候，圣誕老爺爺正在等著他。
小精靈們和居民舉著"Thank You"的橫幅，迎接皮特貓回來。
Santa was dressed in his red coat and hat and cried，
“Hip hip hooray for our friend Pete the Cat.”
圣誕老人穿著他紅色的大衣，帶著個紅帽子，大聲喊道：
“為我們的朋友皮特貓大聲呼喊萬歲。”
“I did it!”
Said Pete. “And although I am small, in the spirit of Christmas I gave it my all!”
“我做到了！”
皮特說道“雖然我很小，但為了圣誕節精神，我全力以赴了！”
