1.? made of? 和? made from

這兩個短語都表示 “用...材料制造”，

made of???? 只發生物理變化，還能看出原材料

made from? 發生化學變化，已看不出原材料

例：

The tables are made of wood. (還能看出原料是木頭)

Paper is made from wood.? (已看不出原料是木頭)

The bridge is made of stone. （石橋，看得出是石頭）

Bricks are made from clay. （磚是泥做的，看不出泥）

Wines are made from grapes. (紅酒是葡萄做的)

2.? blond? 和? blonde

這兩個詞讀音相同：[bl?nd]

blond?? 金發碧眼的男人

blonde? 金發碧眼的女人

但現在使用時已不再嚴格區別。

這兩個詞做動詞，都表示 "說話人" 對表述的事情 “懷疑”，“不確定”， 但用法不同：

suspect? 懷疑是真的? （sth bad may be true），通常懷疑某不好的事情是真的，

doubt??? 懷疑是假的 （sth may not be true or possible），懷疑某事的真實性，即懷疑是假的，

例句:

John suspected that the woman living next door was using heroin.? 懷疑隔壁女人吸毒

I suspect there might be a gas leak somewhere.? 懷疑煤氣有泄漏

Police suspected that Robin had accomplices who had escaped.? 懷疑有同伙在逃?

I doubt if he is honest.? 我懷疑他是否誠實 ?

I doubt that he will come. 恐怕他不會來

He doubted if his brother would learn anything good from his friends.
