作品簡介
福爾摩斯是柯南?道爾創作的偵探小說的主人公，他是一位觀察細致入微的私家偵探，也是一位既理性又博學的英國紳士。
在偵破案件時，他善用邏輯推理，一旦發現疑點，就全身心投入，廢寢忘食，直到案情真相大白。他高超的破案技巧常令人心悅誠服，更讓讀者拍案叫絕。
陪同在福爾摩斯身邊的是并不聰明、邏輯分析能力并不出眾，但卻是福爾摩斯唯一的朋友——華生醫生。
華生雖是醫生，但在偵破案件時卻常常是福爾摩斯的得力助手，并在每次案件破獲后負責將福爾摩斯破獲案件的經過記錄并發表。
華生在書中既是作家又是醫生，實際上是柯南?道爾在描寫自己。
作家簡介
阿瑟?柯南?道爾（1859-1930），出生于蘇格蘭愛丁堡，畢業于愛丁堡醫科大學，行醫十余年，收入甚微，后專寫偵探小說。

Irene Adler had always been the woman on Sherlock Holmes's mind. In his eyes, she is more important than any other woman. This isn't to say that he loved her. It was difficult to see hisemotions, especially love for a woman.
Many thought that emotions did notexistin his cold,preciseandintelligentmind. In my eyes, he was the most precisereasoningandobservingmachine in the world.
