“Songbird（啼鶯）”就是打動我的Eva Cassidy的第一首歌，而且也是她的絕唱。1998年，這位生前并不多為人知的年輕歌手離世兩年后，她的專輯《Songbird》才風靡世界。她夜鶯般的歌聲，從此由天堂傳遍我們這個孤獨的星球，安撫著每一顆需要寧靜的心靈。
1963年Eva Cassidy出生于美國馬里蘭州一個熱愛民歌和爵士的音樂家庭，小時候曾被家里帶出去演唱，可這孩子生性有些孤僻內向，并不喜歡在麥克風前表現自己的才華，藝術和歌唱對她來說只是為了她自己的內心，而不是商品。直到她33歲去世前，她也只是一位植物學校的園丁，歌唱只是她的業余愛好。，她生前雖然在她的家鄉小有名氣，卻是在死后被英國人和BBC電臺推向世界。所以說，稱songbird這首歌是來自天堂的千古絕唱一點也不為過。也就是這位業余歌手，在英國BBC民選統計的20世紀最偉大歌手名單中，Eva Cassidy名列第21位。

如果說songbird給你帶來的是一片來自天堂的安慰，那Eva翻唱的“Ain't no sunshine”則適合于你坐在一間獨自抽著古巴雪茄的老男人之間，在某個開了多年的后街的爵士酒吧，和著昏暗的燈光，在伴唱下發呆。本首歌的原創作者是Bill Withers，一位出生于是上世紀30年代的黑人歌手，歌曲作家和音樂家，“Ain't no sunshine”收錄在1971年9月發布的專輯《Just as I Am》，到目前為止，已有100多個翻唱版本，還被翻譯成各國語言，我也聽過很多翻唱本，但也唯獨喜歡EvaCassidy和Meachel Jackson的兩個版本

多年前，曾經和一位朋友在家鄉的茶館茗茶，席間曾被一首茶館里播放的歌曲打動，朋友當時說了句：這些有著天籟之音的歌者本來就不屬于凡間，不過是上天派來的天使，下凡教化人類的心靈而已。于是當聆聽的EvaCassidy時候，我突然覺得，終于明白了什么是天籟之音。
