You Raise Me Up 這首歌的傳唱度不必多說，很多人知道它最早出自Secret Garden，隨后被無數歌手翻唱。不過，你了解更早的故事嗎？
今天我們要說的不是You Raise Me Up，而是另外一首你聽見會直呼似曾相識的歌：Danny Boy。
一切要從一首傳統愛爾蘭小調Londonderry Air（倫敦德里小調）說起。
1910年，英國作詞家Frederic Weatherly為這首曲子填了詞，也就是日后的Danny Boy。而You Raise Me Up最早也是一首純音樂：Silent Story，創作靈感同樣來自于Londonderry Air，之后愛爾蘭作曲家Brendan Graham對此進行了填詞，才有了之后的傳世經典。
所以說，You Raise Me Up和Danny Boy兩首歌的創作源泉相同，這也是為什么它們聽起來十分相似的原因。

不得不說，“戰爭”這一主題催生了眾多經典作品，但我希望它們永遠存在于我們的記憶之中，而不是做哀傷的見證人。
