Reflection after reading How will you measure your life

It mainly solves three problems about your life. The first one, how can you have a successful career. The second one, how can you have a happy family. The third one, How can you stay out of jail.

However, though it seems simple to ask those question, it is very difficult to answer those questions, especially for someone to provide some theories about how to achieve those goals.

Everyone wants to live a successful life and have a happy family. However, why some of Christensen Clay's classmates of Harvard ended in jail finally. Remember that those students were expected to live a fabulous life in their later lives, however, things don't go as everyone expected.

Let me give you one explanation. As a husband, It is easy to say that you love your mom and your wife, but when you wife and your mom drop in the river simultaneously, who will you save first, your mom or your wife? when this question asked, the afterward action determines where you end up with. Hence, as time goes by, some of Christensen's classmates ended up in jail.

Frankly speaking, when we were senior middle school students ourselves, our classmates would never think that they would one day get a divorce, but somehow six of my senior middle school classmates got divorced and I guess that number is less than the real number.

What I am trying to express is that your life is not what you think what they would end up with, but how you think and act according to your thinking.

And that is the essential value lies in this book.

I want to express some valuable theories I learned from this excellent book.

By the way, I am not going to write this article by looking at the book, I am going to illustrate what impressed most, so, the following is nothing but writing according to my memory.

Theory one: Deliberate strategy and emergent strategy can be exchanged. The deliberate strategy is the plan you designed before you set up to do something, while emergent strategy is the plan you try to change while you actually do something. For example, if you find that the deliberate strategy is not working, you can change another strategy. Not rarely, however, did you find that some shops end up closing. Why, since the deliberate strategy is not working and the income is too low to compensate the cost. The same case goes with ourselves. Actually, I tried to ask more people to come and listen to my online classes in the morning, yet the number keeps on decreasing. I think I need to change a strategy, and I did it. I changed the class into the price of zero and tried to let the students define the value and price of my class. I hope this second strategy is going to work, then I can help more students to master English reading and earn more money. It all depends on how excellent my class will be.

The second theory: Never outsourcing the future. Your future is in your hand. You don't want your core capabilities to be useless in the future, so just try to figure out what your core competencies are and then try to grind them and hone them from this day on. Actually, I am trying to get up and grind my wisdom day by day. Having lectured online for 10 months about those wonderful books, I have made dramatic progress both on my teaching and wisdom. For this ability, I will never outsource.

The third theory: resources, processes and priorities. What resources do you have, what can you do with your process and what are your priorities. For example, you have a MacPro, this is your resource. You use your knowledge to design an app on IOS, this process is the process. You want to design an app of a game rather than an app of a music player, that is your priority.

Ok, there are tremendous other theories which can help you to live a happy life and have a happy family. Due to the limited time, I just tell you three and for the rest, I hope you can read it yourself.
