It is time the "China threat theory" was laid to rest, Chinese Foreign MinisterWang Yi said on Thursday.
Those who do not have bias or practice double standards will see China's development as an opportunity instead of a threat, Wang told a press conference on the sidelines of the national legislature's annual session.
“只要不懷有偏見，不奉行雙重標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，從中看到的絕不是什么威脅，而是滿滿的機(jī)遇。所謂‘中國威脅論’可以休矣?！蓖跻銖?qiáng)調(diào)。
For decades, the West has made all kinds of assessment and predictions about China. To some Westerners, China is either collapsing or threatening, according to Wang.
王毅指出，過去幾十年，西方一直在對中國作出各種評判和預(yù)測，歸納起來無非一種是“中國崩潰論”，一種是“中國威脅論”。
"As China grows, the 'China collapse theory' has collapsed and become an internationallaughing stock*. Meanwhile, the 'China threat theory' with its varioussensational* versions is losing market," he said.
隨著中國的持續(xù)發(fā)展，“中國崩潰論”自己先崩潰了，變成了一個國際笑柄。“中國威脅論”雖然有了新的翻版，但卻更加不得人心。
