日光曬到哪里，就把椅凳移到哪里。忽然寒風(fēng)來(lái)了，只好逃難似地各自帶了椅凳逃入室中，急急把門關(guān)上。在平常的日子，風(fēng)來(lái)大概在下午快要傍晚的時(shí)候，半夜即息。
參考譯文（源自張培基先生）：
Where there was sunshine, there we would move our chairs.When the cold wind came, however, we would scamper indoors like refugees, each carrying a chair or stool and hastily closing the doors behind us.The wind usually began to howl towards evening and lasted until midnight.

第一句：日光曬到哪里，就把椅凳移到哪里。
譯文：Where there was sunshine, there we would move our chairs.
1、句式與表達(dá)
參考譯文用了where……there這個(gè)詞組來(lái)表達(dá)，哪里有……哪里就……大家可以看一下，這句話的參考譯文特別簡(jiǎn)潔，沒(méi)有去刻意翻譯“曬”這個(gè)動(dòng)詞，而是巧用there be 句型來(lái)表達(dá)“有陽(yáng)光時(shí)”。
2、單詞使用與譯法
“椅凳”，chair or stool，原文中，“椅凳”實(shí)際上出現(xiàn)了兩次。為了避免瑣碎累贅，一般會(huì)略譯一處，參考譯文就是在第一句進(jìn)行了略譯。
第二句：忽然寒風(fēng)來(lái)了，只好逃難似地各自帶了椅凳逃入室中，急急把門關(guān)上。
譯文：When the cold wind came, however, we would scamper indoors like refugees, each carrying a chair or stool and hastily closing the doors behind us.
1、單詞使用
“寒風(fēng)”，可以用cold，chilly，piercing，biting，sharp等等詞語(yǔ)，來(lái)表達(dá)“寒風(fēng)凜冽”
“scamper”，其意思是When people or small animals scamper somewhere, they move there quickly with small, light steps. ?奔跑; 疾走，以及 run quickly and often playfully as children and some small animals do （兒童及某些小動(dòng)物）奔跑, 蹦蹦跳跳。
夏天主編：這個(gè)詞用在這里非常貼切，可以表現(xiàn)出寒風(fēng)一來(lái)，人們快步走進(jìn)屋子的模樣。相比escape所表達(dá)的含義更加生動(dòng)。
2、句式與表達(dá)
like在這句話中做介詞，接refugee。
“各自”的處理，其實(shí)這里無(wú)需使用respectively這樣的副詞，使用“each”這個(gè)代詞，就可以表達(dá)“每個(gè)人“在做”什么。
參考譯文中的carrying和closing是ing分詞起修飾作用。
夏天主編：注意一下hastily，這個(gè)詞的意思和quickly相同，但hastily用作書面語(yǔ)，如果考試時(shí)想不起來(lái)hastily，用quickly或者h(yuǎn)urrily 也是正確的。
第三句：在平常的日子，風(fēng)來(lái)大概在下午快要傍晚的時(shí)候，半夜即息。
譯文：The wind usually began to howl towards evening and lasted until midnight.
單詞使用
譯文用了towards這個(gè)精準(zhǔn)的介詞，這個(gè)詞語(yǔ)的意思是向，接近，比如towards noon，就是接近正午的意思。
夏天主編：可以說(shuō)張培基先生在翻譯“在下午快要傍晚的時(shí)候”時(shí)，發(fā)揮了譯者的再創(chuàng)作，讓文本十分優(yōu)美。
并且 towards evening (向晚）是一種很有詩(shī)意的表達(dá)，
比如大家耳熟能詳?shù)摹稑?lè)游原》 向晚意不適，驅(qū)車登古原。 夕陽(yáng)無(wú)限好，只是近黃昏。
再比如張籍的《江南春》“江南楊柳春，日暖地?zé)o塵。渡口過(guò)新雨，夜來(lái)生白蘋。晴沙鳴乳燕，芳樹醉游人。向晚青山下，誰(shuí)家祭水神。”
而towards一詞，在外國(guó)詩(shī)歌也是比較常見，比如《新月集》英文版中， The fairy mistress of dreams is coming towards you, flying through the twilight sky.
再比如，著名詩(shī)人葉芝（William Butler Yeats）寫過(guò)這樣優(yōu)美的詩(shī)句，
“I dreamed towards break of day,
The cold blown spray in my nostril.
But she that beside me lay
Had watched in bitterer sleep
The marvellous stag of Arthur,
That lofty white stag, leap
From mountain steep to steep. ”
夏天主編：常見錯(cuò)誤 Do not say ‘in the midnight’. If you mean ‘a(chǎn)t 12 o’clock at night’ say at midnight and if you mean ‘very late at night’ say in the middle of the night.
不要說(shuō)in the midnight。“在夜里12點(diǎn)”要說(shuō)at midnight，“深更半夜”要說(shuō)in the middle of the night。
