Do you know this word? It’s very useful. We all do it. You might be doing it right now!

Procrastination. Procrastinate. Procrastinating.

I don’t remember when I learned this word. Maybe it was middle school? But I remember vividly how smart I thought I was knowing this word.

Procrastination.

It’s a fancy word! Such a nice, strong vocabulary word. Little did I know I would use it almost everyday... or if I didn’t use it, I would do it.

So what is procrastination?

Procrastination means to put off your work or obligations for later. To say, “Eh, I’ll do it later”.?

But what causes us to procrastinate?

I think about this a lot. Am I lazy? Am I unmotivated? Am I bored? Am I hungry? When I was young, I never procrastinated! Or maybe... my parents stopped me from procrastinating. Everyday after school I had to finish my homework before eating dinner. If I didn’t finish my homework, I couldn’t play afterwards. That’s no fun. But now, I am a big procrastinator!

So what do you think changes when we get older? Are you a procrastinator? What do you do to stop procrastinating?
