I believe we all experience a happy time during our first PIAC class. We spent not a short time discussing the meaningful topics which for sure will widen our minds.

Here?I?am?specially?interested?in?one?topic?we?discussed--the?"smart"?strategic?way?of?EJI.?I?would?like?to?give?my?counter-argument?here.

Some?of?us?believe?that?EJI,?rather?than?awkwardly?go?against?the?power?of?our?Government,?smartly?follow?the?"trend?of?the?country".?That?means?EJI?usually?first?noticed?what?kind?movement?our?Government?will?conduct,?then?followed?that?movement?and?provide?their?suggests.?And?in?its?suggestions,?EJI?would?not?blame?against?our?Government?for?doing?anything?wrong,?such?as?made?a?bad?law,?or?enforce?the?law?badly.?On?the?contrary,?EJI?would?just?provide?its?policy?considerations.?In?this?way?EJI?would?be?much?safer?and?their?suggestions?would?more?likely?to?be?adopted?by?the?People's?Congress.?Sounds?smart.

But?what?I?want?to?remind?is:?what?make?benefit?must?bring?cost.?This?smart?action?adopted?by?EJI?obviously?benefit?EJI?a?lot.?It?keep?EJI's?safety,?at?the?same?time,?help?it?reach?its?goal?and?gain?reputation.?But?is?this?strategic?way?really?that?smart?that?it?should?be?adopted?by?other?public?interest?protection?groups,?such?as?clinics??I?don't?think?so.

This?strategic?way?of?function?help?EJI?reach?its?goal.?But?public?interests?protection?groups'?goals?are?apparently?not?so?limited.?As?we?all?know,?lawyering??in?clinics?can?sometimes?become?very?rebelling.?Such?clinics?touch?more?sensitive?social?issues.?They?rush?to?the?places?where?are?shot?through?with?more?dark?and?more?injustice.?Indeed,?the?"smart"?strategic?way?gives?EJI?the?opportunities?to?wait?for?the?appearance?of?social?trend.?But?there?must?be?someone?who?generates?such?social?trend.

I?am?not?arguing?that?only?the?ones?who?generate?and?exaggerate?such?social?trend?should?be?perceived?as?hero?and?the?ones?who?participate?are?not.?What?I?am?arguing?is:?the?so?called?"public?interest?protection"?is?not?and?should?notonlyappear?smartly?in?the?right?place?at?the?right?time.?the?protection?is?not?and?should?not?be?like?candlelight?under?the?sunshine.?It?should?be?always?there.?In?fact,?I?am?thinking?about?Prof.?Rosenbaum?as?an?example.?He?once?told?us?his?criteria?for?selecting?a?case--his?angry.?Those?people?with?cases?which?could?most?severely?trigger?his?anger?would?most?probably?become?his?clients.

Nor?do?I?believe?such?a?"smart"?way?of?function?can?bring?clinics?the?reputation?they?want.?Such?"smart"?waiting?and?participating?will?delete?many?beautiful?tags?from?the?clinics,?and?make?clinic?a?"legal?participant".?Again,?I?would?like?to?emphasize,?legal?participants,?who?give?their?legal?suggestions?when?they?follow?the?social?trend,?should?also?be?encouraged?and?praised.?What?I?mean?here?is?every?benefit?brings?us?a?cost,?and?every?cost?comes?with?a?benefit.?If?public?interests?protection?groups?plan?to?reach?higher?goals?and?gain?more?reputations.?They?need?to?devote?themselves?more?and?meet?stronger?obstacles.
