When choosing a career people would preferto choose what they love, but sometimes we lose interest in what we have loved and get into occupation burnout period. Andy Kolinsky ,a professor skilled in international management and organizational behavior in Brandeis university Business School, wrote an article in the Harvard Business Review website, introducing some new approaches to rearrange work.
First, evaluate your current job objectives. The purpose of each person's work is different . Research shows that some people only regard work as a job; some people regard work as their career; others regard work as their mission. Those who take work as their mission are working best and more satisfied with their work than others. You need to find out what you are concerned about now, because the drive to drive your career when you are more than 20 is likely to have lost its appeal. Never force yourself to carry through your will which you have at your twenties. Even if you don't find the mission, it can make your job more meaningful.
Second, see what parts of your job can be shaped. Job shaping refers to the adjustment of some part of one's work in order to achieve greater sense of purpose and satisfaction at work. For example, marketing staff redesign their marketing work, adding more activities planning in their own work, because she likes planning activities, doing well in it. Moreover, through planning the activities, she can not only create fortune for the company, but also accumulate work experience. Professor Andy suggests that you can make a draft before and after adjustment. "Before the adjustment" represents your current dull job, and "adjustment" represents the possibilities for your work in the future. Sometimes even the smallest adjustment can make your job more meaningful.
Third, stimulate your interests except working.Besides work, you can carry out a project that interests you , for the reason that it allows you to strikea balance between monotonous tasks and life. What’s more, it can bring you inspirationsto work better, or let you pour time and energy into that part of the job that you are? really fond of.
Finally, if none of these methods work, and if you're really fed up with your work, you have to think about whether you want to change jobs.
