原文:

其致之也，謂:天無(wú)以清，將恐裂；地?zé)o以寧，將恐廢；神無(wú)以靈，將恐歇；谷無(wú)以盈，將恐竭；萬(wàn)物無(wú)以生，將恐滅；候王無(wú)以正，將恐蹶。

譯文:

推而言之，天不得清明，恐怕要崩裂；地不得安寧，恐怕要震潰；人不能保持靈性，恐怕要滅絕；河谷不能保持流水，恐怕要干涸；萬(wàn)物不能保持生長(zhǎng)，恐怕要消滅；侯王不能保持天下首領(lǐng)的地位，恐怕要傾覆。

我的翻譯:

The thing that doesn't get Dao is like this:

Heaven may be crack if it isn't limpid.

The earth may be collapse if it isn't peaceful.

God may be extinct if it isn't efficacious.

The Valley? may be? dry up if it isn't plentiful.

Everything may be destroyed if it doesn't

keep growing.

The king may be overturned if he can't

maintain the status of the world leader.
