Watanabe告別Naoko回到東京，與Midori相見后答應想約去醫院看望Midori的父親。

In his own way, he's lived life with all the intensity he could muster.

Midori覺得雖然自己不喜歡父親的行為，不能理解，但是并不討厭父親，因為她知道父親以自己所能給母親所有的真誠和愛。

愛，理解。以自己全部雖不是最好，但最感人。

"She's a really wonderful girl," she said. "She takes great care of her father; she's kind and gentle and sensitive and solid, and on top of all that, she's pretty. You'd better treat her right. Don't ever let her go. "

醫院里的病人對Midori的評價。父親癱瘓，生活完全不能自理，Midori常常來醫院看望悉心照料。所讀篇章中覺得Midori 性格活潑開放不拘束，率直獨立敢愛敢擔當，很喜歡；同時又很心疼她的成長和內心的缺愛。
