有些中文的習(xí)慣用語(yǔ)，英文中有跟它們完全對(duì)應(yīng)的詞或詞組，意思幾乎分毫不差。

1、這山望著那山高The grassis always greener on the other hill.

人都是這山望著那山高，對(duì)自己的狀況沒(méi)有滿意的時(shí)候。

Almost all people see that the grass is greener on the other hill. They neverfeel satisfied with what they've already got.

2、上癮get into one'sblood

說(shuō)來(lái)也怪，很多不好的事往往會(huì)使人上癮。

It's astoundingly funny that many harmful things usually get into our blood.

3、發(fā)牢騷beef

他坐在那里什么事也不干，總是發(fā)牢騷，真煩死人。

I'm really bored stiff with his sitting there doing nothing but beefing.

（短語(yǔ)bored stiff意為“感到無(wú)聊透頂?shù)摹保?/p>

4、等不及了champ at thebit

咱們快點(diǎn)吧，孩子們都等不及了。

Let's shake the leg. The kids are champing at the bit.

5、點(diǎn)頭哈腰bow andscrape

從她在老板前點(diǎn)頭哈腰地那個(gè)模樣，你就知道她是個(gè)什么人了。

From the way she's bowing and scraping in front of the boss, you'll know whatsort of person she is.

6、瘋瘋癲癲go gaga

對(duì)他的話不要太在意了，他總是瘋瘋癲癲的。

Don't take what he says so seriously. He's always going gaga.

7、說(shuō)話不算數(shù)go back onone's words

他那個(gè)人說(shuō)話從不算數(shù)，我們可不能依靠他。

We cannot account on him. He always goes back on his words.

8、廢話連篇beat one'sgums

誰(shuí)喜歡坐在那里聽(tīng)你的廢話連篇？

Who would enjoy sitting there listening to your beating your gums?

9、恩將仇報(bào)bite thehand that feeds one

你難道不知道她是個(gè)恩將仇報(bào)的人？

Don't you know she's the one that would bite the hand that feeds her?

10、不忍心not have theheart to do

如果我是你，我可不忍心把孩子們就在家里沒(méi)人照看

If I were you, I wouldn't have the heart to leave the kids at home uncared for.

11、勤快an eager beaver

他特別勤快，從來(lái)沒(méi)有閑著的時(shí)候。

He's an eager beaver, never staying idle.

（名詞beaver是“海貍”的意思）

12、以貌取人judge a bookby its cover

勿只憑外表判斷；不能以貌取人。

You can't judge a book by its cover.
