2. 體會這個詞 （進階篇）

“factor”作為名詞表示“因素”，作動詞它有一個很靈活的動詞短語：factor (something) in，意思是“將......考慮進去”。

當我們想表示“考慮到...”時，我們可能會立刻想到 “take something into account” “take something into consideration”，這時候我們其實也可以用 factor something in。來看幾個例子。

在北上這樣的城市月收入 1.5 萬元看似是高薪，但如果考慮到租房和其他生活成本，就沒那么多了。就可以說：

When housing and other living costs are factored in, a monthly salary of ￥15,000 in Beijing and Shanghai does not seem that handsome.

評價學生的學術表現不能只看絕對的成績，而應該考慮到學生的社會經濟條件，就可以這么說：

Students who are considered underachievers are actually overachievers once their socioeconomic statuses are factored in.
