I am going to talk about the famous Lingyan Mountain Temple in my city. It‘s a sacred place of Buddhist ['budist] with a history around 1600 years. The temple was built on top of the mountain. It's tiring to climb the mountain, buy still there are great many visitors coming to the temple every day.
Lingyan Mountain is well known throughout China for its beautiful scenery, it had offered tons of inspiration for many poets in the past. Standing in front of the temple, you can enjoy the great view of Taihu Lake and overlook the whole city. There are two stone lions guarding the temple in the front gate. Buddha statues situated in the front hall and main hall are well preserved in good conditions. People bring their presents like fruits and flowers to Buddha statues and pray for good wishes. You will also notice a pagoda [p?'ɡod?] standing in the middle of the temple. It's said if you walk in the clockwise direction for three circles around the pagoda, show your respect to Buddha, in turn, Buddha will bless you and your family. And can you believe that the entrance ticket cost is only one CNY? The ticket price has not changed since twenty years ago.
The first time I came to the temple just for lunch-- some vegetarian noodles. After lunch, I walked in the temple, and found it a wonderful place to spend time in. It's very quiet, far away from noises and crowds down the mountain. You can feel calm and peace there. ?Since then, i visit the temple almost every month.

明文征明靈巖絕頂望太湖詩：靈巖山正當胥口，落日西南望太湖。雙島如螺浮欲吐，片帆和鳥去俱無。閑論往事何能說，不見高人試一呼。慎勿近前波浪恐，大都奇絕在模糊。
