Attune除了有使合拍，使符合節(jié)奏的意思，還有適應(yīng)，習(xí)慣，接受的含義。顯然它是由at-和tune的詞素組合而成。它的名詞形式attunement（協(xié)調(diào)，調(diào)和）也很常用，比如常說的Spiritual Attunement （精神調(diào)和）。為樂器調(diào)音的過程也習(xí)慣稱為attuning.
