(1). Monica和Paul在約會,Paul談及妻子出軌的事
Paul: I know, I know, I'm such an idiot. I guess I should have caught on when she started going to the dentist four and five times a week. I mean, how clean can teeth get?
Monica: My brother's going through that right now, he's such a mess. How did you get through it?

If you catch on to something, you understand it ,or realize that it is happening.

go through
If you go through an experience or a period of time, especially an unpleasant or difficult time, you experience it.
經(jīng)歷,經(jīng)受(尤指苦難或艱難時期)
例句:
He was going through a very difficult time.
他正處于非常艱難的時期

mess
a person who has serious problems and is in a bad mental condition
遇到嚴(yán)重問題且精神狀態(tài)不佳的人

get through
If you get through a difficult or unpleasant period of time, you manage to live through it.
度過,熬過(困難或者不快的時期)
例句:
It is hard to see how people will get through the winter.
難以想象人們將怎樣熬過這個冬天

(2). Monica與Paul討論如何熬過分手
Monica: You actually broke her watch? Wow! The worst thing I ever did was, I-I shredded by boyfriend's favorite bath towel.
Paul: Ooh, steer clear of you.
