Early on a bright morning one small fuzzy duckling went for a walk.（ 清晨，一只小絨毛鴨子去散步。）
In the shadow the tall cattails, he met two frisky colts.（在一些高的香蒲的陰影處他遇到了兩只活潑的小馬。）
"Hello,"said the duckling. "will you come for a walk with me ?" But the two frisky colts would not. So on went the little duckling, on over the hill.（小絨鴨說“你好，你們想和我一起散步嗎？” 但是那兩只小馬不想散步，于是小絨鴨往小山那邊走了。）
There he found three spotted calves, all resting in the shade."Hello,"said the duckling. "Will you come for a walk with me ?" But the sleepy calves would not. So on went the duckling.（他發(fā)現(xiàn)在陰涼處有三只正在休息帶斑紋的小牛，小絨鴨說：“你們想和我一起散步嗎？”但是那些疲倦的小牛不想散步，于是小絨鴨就走了。）
He met four noise turkeys and five white geese and six lively lambs with thick sofe fleece. But no one would come for a walk with the fuzzy duckling. So on the he went . all by his lone.（他遇到了四只吵鬧的火雞，五只白色的鵝，六只可愛的毛絨絨的小羊，但是沒有一個想和他一起去散步的，于是他只能一直是一個人走。）
He met seven playful puppies(他遇到了七只小狗寶寶）。
and eiht hungry pigs."Won't you come for a walk with me ? asked the fuzzy duckling.（八只饑餓的豬，小絨鴨問道：“你們愿意和我一起散步嗎？”
"You had better walk straight home."said the pigs."Don't you know it's suppertime?" "Oh,"said the duckling. "Thank you."（豬兒們說：“你最好直接走回家吧，你不知道現(xiàn)在是晚飯時間嗎？” 小絨鴨說“哦，謝謝你們。“
But whick way was home?Just as he began to feel quite unhappy, he heard a sound in the rushes nearby... and out waddled nine fuzzy ducklings with their big mother duck.（“但是哪一條是回家的路呢？”小絨鴨才開始感到十分不開心了，他聽到附近有聲音傳過來......搖搖擺擺地走出來九只小絨鴨和他們的媽媽。）
"At last," said the mother duck. "Here is our lost baby duckling." "get in line," called the other ducklings, "We're going home for supper."（媽媽說：終于，這是我們丟失的小絨鴨。” 其他的小絨鴨叫到“快進(jìn)來隊(duì)伍里。“ ”我們準(zhǔn)備回家吃晚飯了》“
So the lost little duckling joined the line, and away went the ten little ducklings, home for supper."This is the best way to go for a walk,"said that happy little, fuzzy little duck.（小絨鴨加入了小鴨子們的隊(duì)列里，十只小鴨子一起離開了，那只快樂的小絨鴨說：“回家吃晚飯。這才是最好的散步方式。”
這是小開本的書，孩子拿著大小剛好。畫風(fēng)不錯，故事也很適合小孩子，可以認(rèn)識不同的小動物，還可以學(xué)數(shù)字，挺好的紙板書。在不斷重復(fù)的問句：“Will you come for a walk with me ?"孩子可以跟讀，在閱讀的同時也可以問”What's this ?",and " how many ducklings are there?"帶著孩子一起數(shù)數(shù)從一到十，其中的動物，如小鴨，小馬，小豬，小狗，小牛，小羊，火雞和鵝等動物我們還可以換成其他動物。我們也可以在與孩子的互動問道“do you like pig?" 等等簡單問句。這樣的場景可以給孩子創(chuàng)造語境，也在輕松的氣氛下引導(dǎo)孩子開口說英語。
