Book Two Unit Eighty-two

Though peopel have often laughed at the stories of sea monsters told by fishermen and sailors, it is found out that many of these sea monsters claimed to have been seen are simply strange fish. Sometimes, unusual creatures are washed to shore, but they are
rarely caught out at sea. Recently, a thirteen-foot-long fish which had the head like a
horse, big blue eyes, shining silver skin and a bright red tail had been caught near
Madagascar. It took considerable efforts for the fishman to bring the fish to shore. The
fish, which has been sent a museum where it is being examined by a scientist, is
called an oarfish. Such creatures have rarley been seen alive by men as they live at a
depth of six hundred feet.
