詞：sour

英英釋義：if a relationship or someone's attitude sours, or if something sours it, it becomes unfriendly or unfavorable

2. 為什么選這個詞？

“sour”可以作形容詞也可以作動詞。作形容詞它最常見的意思是“酸的”“嗖的”，作動詞意思是“惡化”“使......變糟”。從上面的英英釋義中可以看出 sour 既可以是及物動詞也可以是不及物動詞，不過在閱讀中我們知道它更常作不及物動詞。我們可以把 sour 和之前學過的 compound 和 worsen 放在一起在學習。《經濟學人》在寫某兩個國家的關系惡化時，常常會用到 sour 這個詞。下面通過幾個例子來掌握這個詞。
